Light painting

I took part in a light painting workshop, light painting is where you leave the shutter open on a camera for a longer period of time and use light to create a picture or word by drawing with the light. When the shutter closes it would have captured the lights movements in one still picture. This is an example of light painting by light graffiti artist Sola, she also creates advertisement posters for companies such as Nike. I think that her work is effective and eye catching, I like the way she has painted with the light and the movements she has done in order to create depth to the picture. I could take this technique further and develop an art piece based on renewable energy, such as draw a renewable energy source out of light, I think that the two subjects would link together quite well as renewable energy can provide us with power to light our homes. This could be a powerful photography piece or poster if I can come up with an imaginative idea.

Pablo Picasso

Pablo Picasso created the first light painting in 1949 he created his drawings with a small electric light in a dark room, it took many trials to get it rights the technology wasn't as advanced as today.
